Huma Abedin's Lawyer Responds to FBI Investigation

Obama running out of time to Pardon Clinton

President Barack Obama voiced unhappiness over "leaks" connected with the FBI's investigation of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's use of a private e-mail server during her time as US secretary of state. The FBI has obtained a warrant to begin the process of going through the newly found emails to see whether they were classified.

According to the report, the tensions boiled over in July when Comey declined to recommend charges against the Democratic presidential nominee for possibly mishandling classified information through her use of a private email server to conduct government business, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation agent.

The information conflicts with Comey's letter to Congress, which said "the investigative team briefed me yesterday" about the additional e-mails.

A week before Election Day, the Clinton campaign was working to contain damage from Comey's announcement on Friday of new emails that might pertain to a previously completed investigation into Clinton's use of a private server while she was secretary of state. However, Comey concluded that it was better to inform Congress sooner rather than wait until after the election.

On October 7, the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released the statement that Comey reportedly declined to approve.

It is unclear what is contained in the e-mails or if any of them were sent or received by Mrs. Clinton herself. "We operate based on concrete decisions that are made".

Weiner is under investigation for allegedly sending lewd messages to an underaged girl. She and Weiner separated in August. When Clinton became secretary of state in 2009, Abedin was her deputy chief of staff. That investigation ended in July without charges.

"The FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation", said Comey. "We're told that they're investigating a gentleman that Trump himself said was one of his foreign policy advisers for meeting with sanctioned officials in Russian Federation". That review, including a closer examination of the email metadata, was an attempt to figure out the scope and volume of what the agents had found. The FBI has not yet responded to Newsweek's request for comment.

Democrats have angrily demanded that the embattled Mr. Comey rapidly make public what the agency knows about the new email trove.

The official who spoke to the AP was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation by name and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The software is searching for emails belonging to Huma Abedin, which are expected to number in the thousands. How many were to or from Clinton?

"I know her; I trust her", Obama said. "All of that was just unknown".
