Olivier Giroud says Arsenal squad wants Arsene Wenger to stay

Kevin De Bruyne enjoyed more success after switching wings against Liverpool on Sunday

It's left Arsenal needing a huge improvement after the global break if they are to avoid missing out on Champions League football for the first-time on Wenger but, despite the clear issues and fan frustration, Wenger is set to remain in North London.

Arsenal denied the speculation on Monday but the uncertainty over Wenger's future remains with the Frenchman yet to announce his decision.

The Daily Telegraph and Daily Mirror said Wenger will inform Arsenal's board he wants to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season.

"He surrounds himself with yes men".

In the eight matches Arsenal have played in all competitions since losing 2-1 to Watford on January 31, they have won just three, against Hull City and non-league sides Sutton United and Lincoln City.

Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 live: "The last 13 years have been a disaster and the two FA Cups have papered over the cracks".

"I watch the game, I do not watch the stands", said Wenger.

"His work in the transfer market has been a failure lately".

The 43-year-old guided Dortmund to a second-placed finish in the German top flight last season, although they sit in third place this year while also making the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Olivier Giroud: "We hope to win the cup and qualify Arsenal for the Champions' League".

"Do the right thing and if you're not going to do the right thing then tell us".

Wenger's players have always been extremely loyal to him, and it is no surprise to see his compatriot, Giroud, come out in support of him remaining in charge.
