Warriors `furious' with Thunder over Kevin Durant's treatment

Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant looks on during the second half of an NBA basketball game against the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia. The Warriors say n Durant will be out indefinitely after

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2015-2016 Western Conference Finals and then proceeded to steal the team's best player. Apparently the Warriors are bitter that the Thunder didn't give Durant a hero's welcome and helped to smooth tensions before the clash.

According to a report from ESPN, Golden State's organization was "furious and bewildered about the inactivity from Oklahoma City Thunder leadership" in the lead up to the game.

Not only wasn't there a video montage thanking Durant, but there wasn't even a mention by the P.A. announcer or anyone else during the game. According to the Warriors via ESPN, the Thunder should have acknowledged Durant's nine-year service to the team. The Thunder isn't just winning games, but its doing so in blowout fashion. Unexpectedly, Durant was met with vitriol as Thunder fans rained down insults and chants throughout the contest. With superstar forward Kevin Durant departing the Thunder en route to the Warriors, his return to Oklahoma City became a much-anticipated event this season. Still, the first game back after he left in the offseason for a hated rival was probably not the right venue for that recognition.

The Warriors will be in Oklahoma City once again tonight.

"We're getting it together, man", Westbrook said.

Additionally, given that the Thunder were up 3-1 against the Warriors a year ago in the playoffs and couldn't close the deal AND then Durant went to leave for that very team, it's going to be a doubly tough pill to swallow for the franchise and its fans. The time will come some day when he will get his just due for everything he did in Oklahoma City.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is here to set the record straight.
