9 things you didn't notice about the 2017 National Football League schedule

A view inside of Chicago’s Roosevelt Auditorium Theatre prior to the start of the 2016 NFL Draft

On Thursday night, the National Football League released its schedule for the 2017 season. The shoe was on the other foot last December as the Raiders traveled to Kansas City for a Thursday night game that saw the Chiefs emerge victorious 21-13 as 3.5-point favorites. Maybe you want to know when your team will face off against division rivals, because those are can't-miss games. It's the Raiders' final home game of the regular season. This game is on a Sunday, but it figures to most likely be Sunday Night Football.

Seattle will face the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins and Houston Texans all at home next season.

There will be four games played in London, with two in Wembley Stadium and two at Twickenham Stadium.

Key questions for Raiders fans include finding out when they'll play the world champion New England Patriots in Mexico City, and when will they play their first game in Los Angeles since 1994? The Chiefs play at the Cowboys this year and the Cowboys host Thanksgiving. that would be kinda cool.

The NFL's season-opening game sends the Chiefs, coming off a playoff season and hoping for more this time around, rather than the Falcons to Foxborough, Massachusetts.

On Sunday, September 24, the Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Baltimore Ravens at London's Wembley Stadium at 2.30pm. Coach Adam Gase sparked Miami's first playoff appearance in eight years, and there is every reason to consider the Dolphins a playoff team in 2017.

At least one of those games will be played at 9:30 a.m. ET, despite the fact that a lot of people hate that timing.

The Rams-Cardinals game will be a rare division contest played overseas.

Last year's ratings slide for the NFL clearly impacted the league's schedule-making process.
