His ouster was a stunning departure for 21st Century Fox, which long stood by O'Reilly even as allegations and settlements started to add up.

The woman who remained anonymous when she alleged Bill O'Reilly sexually harassed her publicly revealed her identity today, appearing on ABC's "The View".

Bill O'Reilly is leaving Fox News with a payout of up to $25 million, the equivalent of one year of his salary, two people briefed on the matter said Thursday.

"It was embarrassing, so I just got to a point where I was not looking at him", she said. She said that O'Reilly didn't speak to her for weeks except to make sexualized grunting noises when he'd walk by her desk.

"One day he walks past my desk. he walks past and says 'Hey, hot chocolate, '" she said. When contacted by Steel as she researched her piece, he threatened grave repercussions: "I am coming after you with everything I have. It was like street harassment in the office", she continued. "I didn't respond. I was mortified because not only was it sexual, I took that as a very plantation-al remark". Astonishingly, the numerous sexual harassment claims against former President Bill Clinton were never mentioned.

And guess what? In 2015, O'Reilly came after Steel while she co-authored this critical article about how he apparently embellished tales relating to his 1982 coverage of the Falklands war for CBS News.

As to why she came out now, it's because she got exhausted of hearing the stories from women and reliving the trauma. The TV personality has maintained his innocence, saying in a statement that "it is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims".
