Facebook Murderer's Last Words Before Shooting Himself

Suspected Facebook killer Steve Stephens shoots himself after being spotted by police

The man who posted a video of himself on Facebook killing an elderly man shot and killed himself after a "brief pursuit" by Pennsylvania State Police officers. Stephens was wanted on an aggravated murder charge.

State police Major William Teper Jr. said the trooper who bumped Stephens' auto "saw him pull the gun out and shoot himself".

"We would prefer that it had not ended this way because there are a lot of questions I'm sure that, not only the family, but the city in general would've had for Steve as to why this transpired", said Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams.

A patrol trooper was not able to stop in time and slid into Stephens' vehicle. Currently, thousands of people around the world review the millions of items that are reported to us every week in more than 40 languages.

"When I picked up the phone she was screaming", the daughter said.

Stephens, 37, chose the man at random and shot him in the head while streaming on Facebook Live around 2pm in the Glenville neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio.

Stephens is not believed to have known Godwin, a retired foundry worker who media reports said spent Easter Sunday morning with his son and daughter-in-law before he was killed. Though he claimed in his Facebook post to have killed more than a dozen people, there appears to be no evidence that he shot anyone besides Godwin.

He also blamed his actions on Lane, whom he called his girlfriend of three years. "He said he didn't want to wait, give him his nuggets and he had to go". "I'm very thankful that i was actually here working with them today".

Almost 48 hours after the shooting death of Robert Godwin Sr., 74, on Easter Sunday, two of his daughters and the killer's ex-girlfriend met for the first time. "We will keep doing all we can to prevent tragedies like this from happening", he was quoted as saying by AFP. Facebook says, "we know we need to do better".

Facebook Inc Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg pledged on Tuesday that his company would do all it could to prevent postings of incidents such as Sunday's fatal shooting in Cleveland, which was visible on the social media site for two hours.
