Man City & Chelsea all square after entertaining FA Youth Cup final clash

WOMEN'S FA CUP SEMI-FINAL: Man City earn first FA Cup Final appearance

View highlights of the first leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final below.

Hudson-Odoi's close range effort was diverted onto the post by Muric, but the winger collected the rebound, composed himself and played in Ugbo, who fired into the net.

England under-19 global Mount was superb at the heart of midfield and set the tempo as the visitors dominated and pushed City back for large parts of the first half.

Neither side could find a victor in the dying stages of the game, which means there is everything still left to play for when the second leg is contested at Stamford Bridge on 26 April.

Manchester City had to work hard for their Wembley appearance after a narrow 1-0 win over a determined if limited Liverpool side.

Such has been their success in the FA Youth Cup that the Blues have triumphed four times in five seasons - with the last two victories coming at the expense of City.

"The teams were really closely matched with a lot of talented players on display".

Brahim Diaz finally found some space towards the end of the half and threaded two nearly identical balls through to Lukas Nmecha that the City striker couldn't finish.

Nmecha, who has scored 10 goals in the tournament so far, raced through onto the first pass but saw his shot graze the outside of the post when one-on-one with Jared Thompson in the Chelsea goal.

The miss proved costly as Chelsea then followed up two subsequent near misses with a goal.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and City's Lukas Nmecha hit the post during a lively first half.

The goal injected life into the contest, and City responded through Jadon Sancho, who fired wide seconds before the half-time break.

Indeed it was the third-successive time that the two sides have met in the final and many at City felt it was their best chance of overcoming Chelsea, who have dominated youth football in recent years.
