Rarely-seen David Letterman inducts Pearl Jam into Hall Of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced yesterday David Letterman will be stepping up to replace Young at Friday's ceremony.

Elsewhere, a video montage celebrating the late Chuck Berry opened the ceremony while David Letterman gave a heartfelt speech in honour of Pearl Jam. Steve Perry also reunited with his Journey bandmates for the first time in 12 years.

They were inducted alongside the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) and Journey during a concert in NY.

Such a cool night at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with their newest induction ceremony that went down last night at the Barclays Center in NY! While Neil Young was supposed to induct Pearl Jam into the Rock Hall, he will be unable to do so.

He said to laughs from the audience: "That's right — Tupac got Snoop Dogg smoking blunts". Blue Sky" before longtime associate, George Harrison's son Dhani, had the honor of inducting his friend and the group's Roy Wood, Bev Bevan and Richard Tandy into the Rock Hall.

Leading up to the show, rumors swirled that former Journey singer Steve Perry would perform with the band for the first time in more than 20 years.

Vedder also used his speech to discuss climate change and said his daughter was a big fan of Grammy-winning performer Chance the Rapper. And because they did, because they stood up to the corporations I'm happy to say, ladies and gentleman, today every concert ticket in the United States of America is free.
