We forgive the killer

McDonald's order trips up Facebook slaying suspect

Detectives spoke with the suspect on Sunday by mobile phone and tried to persuade him to surrender, police said.

Son Robby Miller said posting the horrific murder on Facebook stripped his father of his dignity.

A five-state manhunt was launched to find Stephens after the children's mental health worker vowed to "keep killing until they (police) catch me".

The employee called state police as the manager and owner went to the window to give Stephens his chicken nuggets, but said his fries were going to be another minute.

A state trooper eventually forced Stephens to stop by using what police call the PIT maneuver, in which a pursuing auto can force a fleeing vehicle to suddenly turn, causing the driver to lose control and stop.

Police say Steve Stephens shot and killed Robert Godwin, Sr. on East 93rd St. on Ester Sunday. "One thing I do want to say, is that I forgive [the killer]".

Before the start of Facebook's annual F8 developers conference, CEO Zuckerberg said: "We have a lot more to do here".

After Godwin complies, Stephens responds: "She's the reason why this is about to happen to you", before fatally shooting his victim through a white plastic bag Godwin held up in a bid to protect himself.

"I am pretty sure he figured out that we were on to him", said DuCharme Jr.

Godwin explained what Stephens did to their family. The company has since announced it is launching a review for reporting harmful content. Police would not speculate on what triggered the killing, but in the video and other footage he posted, Stephens talked about having trouble with his girlfriend and losing everything he had to gambling.

The technology giant's chief executive said "our hearts go out to the friends and family" of Mr Godwin, who was shot dead by Steve Stephens in the USA city of Cleveland in Sunday in an apparent random killing.

Joy Lane's name became a topic of conversation after Steve Stephens mentioned her during his recorded manifesto before he killed 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. She mentioned his Facebook posts and Stephens claimed to have killed 14 people.

The mother previously said Stephens stopped by her house on Saturday with a cryptic message.
