Golden State Warriors overwhelm San Antonio Spurs 136-100 in Game 2

With the Warriors keying on him defensively La Mar-cus Aldridge left scored eight points in Game 2

Stephen Curry had 29 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in three quarters and the Warriors trounced the short-handed Spurs, running away from San Antonio for a 136-100 rout Tuesday and 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Western Conference finals. From the start, the Spurs had mailed in the game and decided that they were going to be as effective as Kawhi Leonard - he didn't play in Game 2, by the way.

The All-Star point guard who shot 8-of-13 from the field, buried six 3-pointers and scored 15 of his total points in a 33-16 first-quarter breakaway, as Golden State took full advantage of the absence of Kawhi Leonard, who missed the game with an ankle injury.

The bench contributed a season-best 63 points.

The lawsuit also mentioned Spurs coach Gregg Popovich's rant against Pachulia, in which Popovich lambasted Pachulia for committing a risky play. San Antonio played well without Leonard last week in their closeout win against the Rockets, but the Warriors are a much different animal.

By the time the opening frame had come to a close for Golden State, the Warriors were already up 17 and the crowd at Oracle Arena was feeling it, as they cheered their team toward a 10th straight victory to begin the playoffs. Because Game 3 isn't until Saturday in San Antonio, he will have three days to heal.

Warriors forward Zaza Pachulia, who accidentally knocked Leonard down in Game 1 causing him to re-aggravate the ankle, left the game with a heel injury. The Silver and Black will return home for Game 3. The Spurs haven't rebounded from a 0-2 deficit to win a playoff series since overcoming the New Orleans Hornets in seven games in the Western semifinals in 2008. After Gregg Popovich's rant to the media in which he referenced Zaza's history and ostensibly called him a dirty player, the tensions between the two teams have only tightened.

The Warriors have won 25 of 26 overall, and on many nights have annihilated the competition.

More news: Brazilian President Temer insists he won't step down over corruption allegations

Obviously, the attorney who filed the lawsuit knows he is not going to keep the Warriors out of San Antonio.

Warriors acting head coach Mike Brown doesn't want to hear about this series not being a fair fight with Leonard out of the Spurs' lineup.

Oh, by the way, Golden State is within range of passing, ya know, everyone in the history of the National Basketball Association. And you have to believe.

"I don't think as a group they really did". "That was disappointing. When you're playing a team that's as good as Golden State, you're going to get embarrassed if that's the way you come out, and we did, so I think that's the deal, more than anything".

"No, I wouldn't say they came out flat", he inisted.

Two trips later - after swarming Warriors defense forced the Spurs into an errant Danny Green 59-foot heave at the end of the shot clock - Draymond Green nailed an open 3 from the top of the key to make it 5-0.
