"Enjoy the book.you're the one writing it", he said.

Bon Jovi was about to surprise thousands of lucky college grads at their commencement.

The appearance by the New Jersey band was the result of the New Jersey school winning MTVU and Bon Jovi's "Crash My Commencement" contest.

"Don't take any criticism too heavily, but don't accept the praise too loudly either", Bon Jovi added.

The band, led by frontman Jon Bon Jovi, arrived unbeknownst to the students of the Teaneck, New Jersey school.

The performance at the New Jersey university was all thanks to MTV, who hosted a contest asking students to share their most memorable college moments. Never assume or judge a book by its cover; /the truth is, there are many surprises awaiting you on your journey.
