The coaches have been manufactured at the Indian Coach Factory in Chennai.

The luxurious train, Tejas Express, will start running between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Karmali in North Goa on May 22.

The train will also operate on Delhi-Chandigarh and Surat-Mumbai routes.

Equipped with CCTV cameras besides smoke and fire detection system, the 19-coach Tejas Express equipped with bio-vacuum toilets and GPS-based passenger information display system.There will be comfortable seating arrangements and each seat will have LED TV with touch control system and call bell facilities.

The train will have executive class and chair class.

The much-anticipated Tejas Express received the final go-ahead on Friday after Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu inspected the premium train at the Safdarjung Railway Station.

The future of the Mumbai-Madgaon double-decker hangs in balance with the impending introduction of hi-speed Tejas Express to Goa.While Railways sources indicated that the AC double-decker service to Goa, which is in operation for more than a year, may be discontinued, Central Railway (CR) officials declined to comment on Friday.

Catering services for the prestigious train will be managed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

The trains will also offer on-board facilities such as wifi, tea and coffee vending machines, snack tables and magazines, besides entertainment and local cuisine.

The news of Tejas Express has made wave across the web and people are eagerly waiting to take a journey on this train.

"Tejas Express train of Indian Railways introduced with modern on board facilities hv Redesigned seats with e-leather", Ministry of Railways said in a tweet. The train will run at a speed of 130kmph and will cover the distance in almost eight and a half hours.
