Predators' Ryan Johansen out for the remainder of the playoffs with injury

The Nashville Predators celebrate Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks in Game 3 of the Western Conference final their 10th-straight home playoff win

The Predators and Anaheim Ducks are tied at two games apiece in their Western Conference final series.

It was the tenth consecutive playoff game at home won by the Predators.

Defenseman Mattias Ekholm said the team feels comfortable on home ice.

"The ownership group has really paid attention to the fans and the experience", Harrell said. "I don't know what's going through his head over there". I believe the Penguins will win the cup again because, despite the fantastic performance of the Predators in the playoffs, the Penguins have become a new monster in the playoffs, and their roster boasts veterans and aggressive young players, including Jake Guentzel, a rookie who has the most goals in the postseason, who will bring them to the cup for a second year in a row.

"We have our fans standing up the whole third period literally and cheering us on".

The Nashville Predators already face a daunting challenge when they attempt to take control of the Western Conference finals in a pivotal Game 5 on the road.

Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg said he doesn't know if it matters right now if the Predators are at home or not because of how aggressively they're playing. Corey Perry scored on a power play in the second period with just five minutes to play.

All four of those players seem likely to miss Game 4.

Nashville then had a glorious chance to tie the game. With the series tied at 2-2, it was either teams' to take, but the next two games would go to Ottawa. When officials first waved off a would-be goal by Colton Sissons at 6:25 and then Ryan Johansen's goal at 6:33, fans started tossing towels onto the ice.

With 4:40 left in the second period, Johansen collided with Anaheim Ducks defenseman Josh Manson during a race for a puck. The team plays in the heart of Nashville's honky-tonk district, a place where people have come for decades to cut loose. Josi ended that drought with his wrister from the right circle off an assist from Viktor Arvidsson. Anaheim simply can not handle their speed game and when they establish any kind of extended zone time the Ducks get exhausted and commit penalties. Yet, as Nashville has shown us this postseason, theres never a time when you can truly count them out.

"It's pretty rare to see a team that expects their players to do that for a full 60 minutes, and that's what they do", Fowler said. The Predators lost in seven games to the San Jose Sharks in the second round. It's been the Nashville Predators.

Johansen was injured during the Ducks' 3-2 overtime victory in Game 4, which evened the series 2-2.

Game five is Saturday in Anaheim.

"We lean on him a lot". But we still had a chance. His play was sensational, bordering on out-of-this-world versus the Blackhawks.

Carlyle said he thought his Ducks were flat with emotion and credited the Predators for taking that out of them.

But the net came off its moorings at the same time with Ekholm crashing into it. Referee Brad Meier immediately waved off the goal, which was upheld on review.

Once the next one is complete, either the Predators or Anaheim Ducks will be facing elimination. That earned McLeod an instigator penalty along with a game misconduct.

Add to that Nashvilles defensemen pinching to keep pucks inside the offensive zone, preventing the Ducks from breaking into their own zone to shoot at Predators goalie Pekka Rinne. "Clutch" by teammate Harry Zolnierczyk and it's hard to argue after the standout forward again came through by scoring the tying goal with 34.5 seconds in Game 4 to force overtime.
