Three into two won't go in Champions League race

Sunderland boss David Moyes wants to manage more than 1,000 games

Arsenal draw 1-1 with Everton and Liverpool lose 2-0 to Middlesbrough, the two clubs will finish with 73 points and a goal difference of +31 (with 75 scored and 44 conceded).

The Premier League is headed for a mouth-watering finish with its final round of matches to be played on the coming Sunday and there's a realistic probably that either of Man City, Chelsea or Liverpool could end up playing a match to decide their European fate.

Arsene Wenger's side know they have to better Liverpool's result against an already relegated Middlesbrough when they welcome Everton to the Emirates stadium, or hope Man City lose and win themselves with a five-goal swing.

Arsenal's midweek win over Sunderland kept them in the Champions League picture, meaning they can displace Liverpool or possibly Manchester City with a win.

City travel to Watford knowing a win would guarantee them third spot and automatic qualification.

Pep Guardiola's City moved back into third spot, above Liverpool, thanks to goals by Gabriel Jesus, Kevin de Bruyne and Yaya Toure in their final home game of the season.

Here's all 24 teams who could potentially feature in the Champions League qualifiers.

However, of the games that these three teams have to play, Arsenal's is the toughest.

The Premier League draws to a close on Sunday, with another rollercoaster of a season firmly embedded in the memories of the millions of fans who soak up the action on a weekly basis.

However, if they are to finish level on goal difference and goals scored City will need to lose to the Hornets by four goals, and Arsenal will need to beat Everton by one goal, scoring just once more than City do. They go into that match three points ahead of Arsenal, and two ahead of Liverpool.

Arsenal's game with Everton will not be televised, with Sky opting to follow the action between Manchester City and Watford at Vicarage Road instead.

City now have a positive 36 goal difference, as opposed to Liverpool's 33, though a play-off would hinge on goals scored and goals conceded being identical.

The top three teams will qualify directly for the Champions League group stage, while the fourth placed team will enter the preceding qualifying round.

And former Arsenal striker Merson is predicting a routine 2-0 win for Jurgen Klopp's side.

With the title secured, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte's attention is now on setting a new Premier League record of 30 wins in a season.

Well all that would depend on Liverpool.

Sunderland, losers in nine of their last 12 games and relegated last month, were hardly a step up in class.
