Toure wants clarity over City future

I’d have been sacked at ‘big club’ says Man City boss Guardiola

Argentina star Aguero was unable to add to his 31-goal haul this season but was instrumental in a slick first-half display as Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne breached the visitors.

Manchester City fans might not be best pleased with that "big club" comments.

Yaya Toure put the host ahead 3-0 in the 57th minute and that led to Pablo Zabaleta, who was playing his last game at the Etihad after nine years with the club, come in to a huge ovation from the home faithful.

Manchester City produced a dominant performance to beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday and move within touching distance of securing a top-four spot in the Premier League. We now have 72 and want to go to 75.

City and United are local rivals and have enjoyed a healthy hostility in the nine years Zabaleta has been at the club.

Guardiola can finish no higher than third in this season's Premier League, which will be the lowest final placing of his managerial career.

"Now we are in third and it's in our hands to finish third", said City manager Guardiola.

Guardiola said that he still has a chance with City to perform better the next season.

Speaking after the match, Zabaleta revealed: "When I first came to Manchester, I never thought it would be that long to be honest and it was a different era for the Club".

Asked about the Arsenal boss' comments, Guardiola said: "I don't understand how the managers speak for the other clubs and the other teams".

Guardiola reckons his players have been good enough to have achieved more this season, but have paid the price for not being ruthless enough in attack, and for being too generous in defence. For me, we couldn't let people say something like that about us.

"If you need to go to war in the big games, you know you've got Zabba with you". "When I see his performances I wonder what we could have been with him all season. I am sure the future is so bright and hopefully one day the club can achieve it". Dropping or drawing this game to the Baggies could cost them their UCL chances, so expect City to leave nothing on the field.
