Cosby prosecutor undeterred by mistrial, vows to try again

Actor and comedian Bill Cosby stands as his publicist Andrew Wyatt addresses the media after a judge declared a mistrial in Cosby'

And the mistrial in his criminal case doesn't necessarily mean he won't be found guilty in the civil cases, according to New York City legal ace Stuart Slotnick.

But the reputation of Cosby, known as America's Dad for his role on the television series, The Cosby Show, remains in tatters after a slew of sexual assault allegations from about 60 women.

"She's a very spiritual woman, she believes things happen for a objective, and I think the goal is.it should encourage other women to come forward and have their day in court", said her lawyer, Dolores Troiani.

Jurors spent more than 45 hours in sequestered deliberations since getting the case Monday, telling Judge Steven O'Neill as recently as midday Friday that they weren't making progress.

Constand's complaint is the only one that has come to trial. We can now wonder if a lot of those kinds of attitudes were at play in.

Victoria Valentino, a former model who has accused Cosby of drugging and raping her decades ago, had a message for the celebrity.

Two women jurors who appeared to be in their 30s or 40s looked anguished when they announced the final deadlock, wiping away tears with tissues handed to them by a sympathetic young man sitting between them.

She once served on a jury where the foreperson was the lone holdout for an acquittal.

"Anything can happen because it's a new set of jurors", Levenson said. But they may first want to know what issues hung up the jury. On Saturday, they came back and told him they were hopelessly deadlocked.

Cosby also said he gave Constand three half-tablets of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl to help her relax before what he insisted was a consensual sexual encounter at his home. The discovery in those cases is underway, but his deposition testimony will remain on hold until the retrial in the criminal case.

Several of those women attended the trial and wore buttons that read "We Stand in Truth". They attacked the judge, in a letter from Cosby's wife Camille, as "arrogant" and Steele as "heinous" and "ambitious".

On Saturday, after they reported to O'Neill they were at an impasse and would not be able to reach a consensus, he was forced to call a mistrial.
