Cosby set for 3rd day of sexual assault trial

Bill Cosby is charged in just one case involving a former Temple University basketball team employee who said he drugged and molested her at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004. Cosby could get 10 years in prison if convicted of aggravated indecent

Prosecutors will continue building their case on Tuesday with testimony from Johnson's mother if Judge Steven O'Neill allows her to take the stand after defense lawyers objected.

Johnson told those present that Cosby gave her a pill that made her semi-unconscious and then asked her to fondle him, Miller testified.

"I was very confused and disoriented", she said.

"Yes", replied Constand, though she said the bath salts were not from her, but from a friend. Where are you from? "Things of that nature", she said.

Defense attorneys also could bring up phone calls between Cosby and Constand and her mother, some of which were taped. She said she continued to speak to Cosby after the alleged incident because of her job at the time, and because Cosby was an important donor to the school. It seemed to be an affectionate - yet suggestive - touch, she said. She said she didn't tell anyone about the alleged assault at the time out of loyalty to the women's basketball team, which she managed.

Agrusa tried to poke holes in Constand's account and raise questions about her credibility and motivations - but the witness largely kept her composure and stuck to her story. There are a hundred possible reasons, one of which Constand got at in her testimony: She'd been betrayed by an admired friend and wanted answers. Someone I trusted. A mentor. "And somewhat of an older figure to me". "There was a lot, 16 months, to try to compress". According to Constand, the comedian gave her three blue pills to help with the stress she was feeling over an upcoming career shift.

Mason testified that Constand said she'd waited to come forward because she was embarrassed and was daunted by Cosby's strong standing at his alma mater Temple University, where she worked for the basketball program.

He offered her some wine, and she took a sip after his coaxing. But she didn't feel threatened.

Twenty minutes later, Constand said, she slurred her words, had trouble seeing, her mouth felt cottony, and she had trouble walking.

It wasn't immediately clear how soon she would take the stand. I also felt his hand inside my vagina moving in and out.

QUOTE: "In my head, I was trying to get my hands to move or my legs to move, but I was frozen".

Constand, who was an employee at Temple University at the time, has previously said that Cosby invited her to his home to talk about her career and her desire to switch careers.

She initially said she went to Cosby's house and was assaulted after a dinner out with other people.

When she awoke in the morning, Mr Cosby gave her tea and a muffin.

Then, she added, her voice quavering, "I wanted it to stop".

"The man that I've known as a child was amusing and witty and smart and philanthropic and full of advice", she told ABC News.

Constand said she returned to his home after the alleged incident to ask him what type of pills he had given her, but claimed he was "evasive", so she left. After briefly losing consciousness, she regained it as Cosby was touching her private parts, she testified.

Mr Cosby's wife of 53 years was not seen with him as he entered the court in Norristown, near Philadelphia, on Monday or Tuesday.

"What was going through your mind with your parents requesting you to get tickets to see the man who sexually assaulted you?"

Constand's testimony will resume this afternoon.
