McConnell is trying to revise the Senate health care bill by Friday

Senate Republicans unveil a revised health care bill in hopes of securing support from wavering GOP lawmakers including one who call

Americans gave them that chance.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is reportedly trying to make side deals with billions of taxpayer dollars to get enough votes to pass the GOP health care bill (video below). Many accused leadership of moving too quickly.

What the Affordable Care Act did accomplish, and spectacularly, was to establish the expectation that all Americans have a right to accessible and affordable health care. But if the legislation was on life support earlier, it may now need a defibrillator. She says she's most concerned that the people in the facility where she works won't get the care they need. "It will just take us a little longer".

But it does so by finally reforming Medicaid, a half-century after its birth, by replacing the old incentives for states to keep expanding it with ones that encourage innovation and efficiency.

Senators want fireworks? They'll see them.

Mr. McConnell, who kept the president at a polite arm's length while he oversaw negotiations over the bill, asked Mr. Trump to arrange the meeting with all 52 Republican senators during a morning phone call, in part to show senators the White House was in fact fully engaged, according to two people with knowledge of the call.

"I have so many fundamental problems with the bill", she told reporters outside the Capitol.

In addition to new sanctions on Russian Federation, the bill would also give Congress 30 days to review and potentially block President Trump from lifting sanctions. His most memorable comment was to call the House legislation "mean" - a comment that came a month after he celebrated its passage with a ceremony in the Rose Garden.

By delaying the Senate vote until after the July Fourth recess, McConnell is taking the first step toward letting the Senate be the Senate again.

"It's going to be very hard to get me to a yes". It's expected the bill will be altered and get a new score from the Congressional Budget Office before it comes back up.

At least four conservative Republican senators - Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Ron Johnson and Mike Lee - said their opposition remained unchanged after the CBO analysis. Dean Heller, who has opposed the bill.

President Donald Trump's threats just don't carry much weight with congressional Republicans, who privately admit he's a lightweight.

Passing changes to government health care programs is politically perilous, and the Affordable Care Act faltered numerous times before it was eventually signed into law. Well now they have it, and they can't seem to get anything done. More self-identified conservatives disapprove of the bill (34%) than approve of it (31%). "Shame! Shame!" as they held a banner that read #IStandwithPP.

"The CBO has consistently proven it can not accurately predict how healthcare legislation will impact insurance coverage", the White House stated.

Ohio Sen. Rob Portman understands Kasich's objections, telling The Hill: "I told him, 'if they hand you a few billion dollars on opioids... that's like spitting in the ocean, '" compared to the bill's billions in Medicaid cuts. "And we are still optimistic we are going to get there". That leaves only a slice of a slice of the public offering any kind of support for the bill. The delay was announced with at least five Republicans indicating they were against bringing the bill to the floor this week. The current bill cuts federal funding to the provider for one year. It will also reveal just how much loyalty Republican senators feel towards a President who has often departed from the orthodoxies of his own party.

Hours before promising a "surprise", Pres. Trump acknowledged that shuttling the health care legislation through the Senate is "very tough", but said he believed he and Republicans would "get it over the line".

If the Senate passes a healthcare bill, it will either have to be approved by the House or the two chambers would reconcile the differences in a conference committee.

But we're not going to be in a position where we say, "OK, only 15 million people will be uncovered, we'll support that bill".
