TSA Wants You To Remove Books From Carry-On Luggage

Police said surveillance footage showed Johnson reaching into Kathleen Duddleston's bag and stuffing the money in his pocket during her pat down. Airline passengers are

The Hill says that although the decision has not been finalized, the new screening process would require passengers to put their books into bins at the security check the same way people now do with their laptops.

TSA workers find all sorts of things in luggage that aren't supposed to be there, but a recent find is among one of the more freakish.

"I can not speak to any airline policies, but TSA has no prohibition on transporting lobsters", said TSA spokesman Michael McCarthy told the Boston Globe.

"The lobster was traveling in a cooler in checked luggage and was allowed to continue", tweeted TSA Spokesman Michael McCarthy.

TSA regulations state that live lobsters are allowed through security, but passengers are required to place them in a "clear, plastic, spill-proof container".

The accompanying photo showed a smiling TSA employee holding a lobster that was five to six times the size of a normal full grown member of that crustacean family. "A TSA officer will visually inspect your lobster at the checkpoint".

It's not unusual for lobsters to be found in luggage in New England.

"Security is always our top priority and as such, we continuously test security screening procedures to improve our operations", Lisa Farbstein, TSA's acting director of media relations, said in a statement.

According to reports, the TSA is considering asking airline passengers to remove books from their carry-ons before boarding airplanes, The Hill reported.
