Delta Airlines responds to Ann Coulter tirade: 'Your insults are unacceptable & unnecessary'

Ann Coulter

Coulter later tweeted that she was informed she was moved due to an "emergency", but that didn't stop the conservative commentator from continuing her anti-Delta rant.

According to her, they had given her seat to a person who was neither old, nor a child, nor sick, nor an "air marshall or a tall person".

When the flight was boarding, Delta said that it "inadvertently moved" Coulter to 15A, another window seat on the same row, in order to "accommodate several passengers with seating requests".

It said it only learned of Coulter's complaints after she began tweeting about it on July 15, following the flight's arrival. On Sunday evening, Delta responded to Coulter on Twitter and said it will refund the $30 she had paid for the preferred seat.

Then Coulter took aim at the "dachshund-legged" passenger who took allegedly took her seat, and Delta staff who she likened to "stasi" policemen.

The six-foot-tall Coulter had booked an aisle seat for the extra legroom during the flight from NY to Palm Beach, Florida.

On Monday morning, shortly after midnight, the airline hit back at Coulter for maintaining a barrage of comments that was described by Delta officials as "unacceptable and unnecessary".

The airline said it first learned of the issue when Coulter started tweeting Saturday afternoon.

"But at least @Delta was nice @ it", Coulter continued, "summarily snatching my ticket from my hand & ordering me to move w/o explanation, compensation or apology".

In a second photo, Coulter showed a woman seated in an aisle seat who she claims took her original seat.

Another airline is in the news, this time in the spotlight thanks to Ann Coulter's barrage of tweets over the weekend. Following the flight, crew members reported that there were no problems or concerns escalated.

Coulter even went so far as to ask Florida radio host, Joyce Kaufman, to invite her onto the show so the two of them could call the CEO of Delta Airlines together, supposedly in an attempt to get answers from the company while live on air. "@Delta sucks", Coulter wrote. "That's what offends you".

Now Delta has had its fair share of bad news over the years, including in the wake of the United incident where a passenger was dragged off the flight. Most likely a death in the family.

Nevertheless, some of Ann's fans jumped to her defense.
