Juventus set to sell Bonucci to AC Milan for £35million

AC MILAN and Inter continue to make waves in this summer's transfer window, with both interested in signing Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports in Italy.

Not only that, only yesterday, Bonucci's agent - Alessandro Lucci - confirmed in an interview that talks of Bonucci leaving the Turin outfit are already in progress.

He wrote: "Shock transfer of the summer".

The 30-year-old previously played for Inter Milan, where he enjoyed part of his youth career and his professional start, so he would be spurning the fans of two different clubs by joining the Rossoneri. I thought it was a joke at first.

Bonucci has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world right now and was imperious in Juventus' run to the UEFA Champions League final last season. AC Milan are ready to pay upwards of €40m (£35m) to secure the rights to the Italian global, a fee that's well below the rumored sum Chelsea (and Manchester City) were willing to pay not all that long ago. Bonucci and Allegri were apparently involved in another heated argument.

Only a few weeks ago, Allegri stated that Bonucci has a bright future at the club, saying he will be the "leader of the Juventus dressing room".

Lazio's Stefan de Vrij has been touted as a potential replacement for Bonucci, whose departure would leave Juve with Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli, Medhi Benatia and Daniele Rugani as their central defensive options, with Mattia Caldara not arriving from Atalanta until 2018.
