Man killed 4 after feeling cheated in drug deals

Doylestown Pa. Lawyer Paul Lang a defense attorney for DiNardo said Thursday that his client has admitted killing the four men who went missing last week and tol

Mentally ill drug dealer, Cosmo DiNardo, was arrested by local police, after they identified him as a suspect and did a through search in his family's Pennsylvania farm - where he allegedly slayed the victims. District Attorney Matt Weintraub said he could confirm cadaver dogs located remains identified as belonging to 19-year-old Dean Finocchiaro, of Middletown, Pennsylvania. That was followed by the disappearances of 22-year-old Mark Sturgis, of Pennsburg in Montgomery County, 21-year-old Tom Meo, of Plumstead Township, and Finocchiaro on Friday. DiNardo said one victim was killed July 5 and the other three were killed July 7, said an AP source.

Weintraub says they've found additional remains on a sprawling farm in suburban Philadelphia that they still have yet to identify.

Dinardo is also accused of trying to sell one of the missing men's cars. The auto was found on the DiNardo family property.

Authorities say they're starting to look at pursuing homicide charges against a 20-year-old man who was taken into custody earlier Wednesday and whose parents own the farm.

A law enforcement official escorts Cosmo DiNardo, whose attorney said has admitted to killing four men reported missing in the Bucks County area. DiNardo said he then used the backhoe to lift the bodies of Meo and Sturgis and place them in the same metal tank where he had placed Finocchiaro's body.

The charges relate to the killings of Patrick, Meo, Sturgis and Finocchiaro.

A "person with firsthand knowledge" of the confession has since come forward and told The Associated Press that DiNardo killed them each separately after selling them marijuana and subsequently feeling "cheated or threatened during three drug transactions".

Matthew Weintraub, district attorney for Bucks County, speaks with members of the media in New Hope, Pa., on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

Paul Lang, DiNardo's lawyer, had told reporters Thursday that the 20-year-old was ready to plead guilty to four counts of first-degree murder. DiNardo said he had run out of ammunition, so he ran over Meo with the backhoe.

It's not clear why Dinardo cooperated. "I don't know what convinced him (to confess)".

Dinardo then drove the backhoe over Meo and "basically crushes him", Kratz told police, according to the complaint. "In exchange for that confession, Mr. DiNardo was promised by the district attorney that he will spare his life by not invoking the death penalty".

Authorities have confirmed Finocchiaro's body was found.

Kratz is charged in the murders of Finocchiaro, Meo and Sturgis. They then walked to a remote part of the property where DiNardo said he fatally shot Patrick with a.22-caliber rifle. His vehicle, with his diabetic medications inside, was found parked in a garage at 2827 Aquetong Road on a property owned by Sandra DiNardo.

On Monday, Dinardo was arrested for an unrelated charge of possessing a firearm despite suffering from a mental illness.

"I'm not sure", he said, "we could ever answer that question". Patrick, who was a year behind DiNardo at a Catholic high school, was last seen on Wednesday, while the other three vanished two days later.
