British Police Raid Hotel in Greater Manchester's Salford

The police operation has been underway in the Ibis Budget Hotel in Salford Quays in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to reports of the incident outside the Ibis Hotel in Trafford Road, Salford, shortly after 9pm on Thursday.

We were called to reports of a collision between a auto and a child.

Officers entered the foyer of the Ibis Hotel at around 9.30, according to witnesses.

Police vehicles and ambulances were seen lined up outside the building.

In a tweet, it said: "Police responding to collision involving young boy near Ibis hotel in Salford".

Manchester police rushed to the scene of an accident where a young boy was killed.

Earlier, reports said a woman covered in blood was seen on the scene and that a 17-month-old child had been hit.

A disturbing video showing the scene before ambulances arrived surfaced on social media.

Chilling mobile phone footage posted online also captures a woman breaking down in tears.

Armed police attended the incident because they were in the area at the time, they said.

She described seeing police talking to a "little girl on a bench" who "appears to be wrapped in a towel".
