Buhari's supporters take to the streets

Charly Boy slumps as police dogs attack anti-Buhari protesters

Placard carrying government supporters burst into the Aso Villa Thursday singing praises of the ailing president Muhammadu Buhari.

In reaction to the tear gas fired at anti-Buhari protesters yesterday in Abuja, the Police has released a statement, saying it was to prevent the hoodlums from hijacking the protest.

A protester was injured and had to be rushed to the Federal Staff Clinic Federal Secretariat, while Charly Boy also fainted due to the attack.

- Senate condemn Police Brutalisation of Protesters in Abuja. I once said he should resign and allow another person to take over. Therefore, every Nigerian must rise up and ask questions.

Meanwhile, the Senate and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have condemned the brutal use of force by the Nigeria Police last Tuesday, to disperse protesters who were demanding the resumption or resignation of President Buhari, following his prolonged medical vacation in London.

According to them, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has been unable to allocate portfolios to ministerial nominees and take decisions that could move the nation forward despite the transmission of power to him, proving that Buhari's absence is stagnating the nation.

President Muhammadu Buhari has been away for more than 90 days on a medical trip to London for an undisclosed illness.

- Urge Police to adopt more democratic measures.

The group, like the former, was seen being given adequate police protection.

The Arewa youths advised the governors and South West politicians to call those they described as "attack dogs" engaged in the protest to retrace their steps or face being exposed in their secret political deals.

A leader of the group, Goodluck Obi said the president has not violated any section of the constitution. "They are either being cowed into silence by people like Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, or are busy holding meetings negotiating for the VP slot". We know those that are behind the protest against the president.

"They were hostile and then suddenly unleashed the dogs which were coming voraciously to attack us".
