Hackers now leak personal details of GoT actors

Hackers have released spoilers for episodes of Game of Thrones and unseen episodes of other series

In statements to the press, HBO still maintains that "the review to date has not given us a reason to believe that our email system as a whole has been compromised".

HBO reportedly offered $250,000 (roughly Rs. 1.6 crores) to the hackers who have leaked unaired episodes, scripts, and personal information so far, according to an email sent to various publications.

However, the leaked episode was not the result of the HBO hack.

A video released by Mr. Smith, featuring white text on a black background, threatens to release more data if HBO does not pay a sum of money that's believed to be between $6 and $7.5-million. The report said that hackers have sent an email regarding this to HBO Chief Executive Officer Richard Plepler.

The data dump included what appear to be scripts from five Game of Thrones episodes, including one upcoming episode, and a month's worth of email from the account of Leslie Cohen, HBO's vice-president for film programming.

The hackers claimed to have stolen nearly 1.5TB of data which could potentially amount to several TV series box sets or millions of documents. The memo also asks that the ransom deadline set by the hacker be pushed back one week so the necessary amount of bitcoin may be secured. "We simply have not yet been able to do so", the message from an HBO executive reads. Earlier this week, a ransom demand was put in place and as a show of power, the hackers also released confidential emails and new Game of Thrones details.

"You have the advantage of having surprised us".

So there are good chances that HBO has submitted to the Game of Thrones hackers' demand and just wants some time to collect the full $250,000 in Bitcoin.

The website said that it was unable to confirm if the documents were altered, although previous scoops by "Mr. Smith" were verified and the HBO employee in question does work with information technology. They broke their promises and wanted to play with us but with the HBO officials, we have weeks of negotiations.
