Leah Remini Wants 'Aftermath' To Prompt Federal Investigation Into Scientology

She's going after the Church of Scientology even harder

THR notes that "Aftermath" has earned Remini an Emmy nomination for best informational series or special.

Leah Remini continued her ongoing war with the Church of Scientology by asking for a federal investigation as her A&E documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, comes to a season's end. The victim gets punished for 'pulling it in, ' which is a Scientology term that means you did something that you're not telling the church about - and that's why you received the abuse. "I am fighting for my children after watching your show, '" she said.

The former "King of Queens" star hopes her crusade against the Hollywood-based church will continue to put pressure on the organization.

"I don't hold anything against Elisabeth Moss other than she's continuing to support a group that is abusive and destroying families", Leah continued.

The Church of Scientology has dismissed Remini's "dangerous and irresponsible" allegations, inviting her viewers to visit their website for more information.

Describing some of the abusive practices she mentioned, she tells that Scientologists believe that children are just adults in smaller bodies. She had previously given an in-depth interview back in October 2015 to ABC's 20/20 about her experiences with Scientology. Because of this, Remini was asked what might happen if she were to run into Moss during September's awards ceremony.

The show won a Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming on August 6, and while accepting the award, Remini was overwhelmed with gratitude.

Since 2013, Remini has made plenty of inflammatory comments about the religion that have further removed her from to the members of her former community. It means so much to those who were and are courageous enough to speak out against Scientology.

"Leah Remini's false attacks on the Church of Scientology, in an effort to drum up publicity for her equally false "docuseries, ' is truly despicable", a statement said".

The church adds that Remini was "expelled" years ago "for unethical conduct", along with other "anti-Scientologists in her program". In reality, she hopes to bring enough evidence to warrant a federal investigation.

Following this decision, which has made countless headlines over the course of the last four years, Leah has dedicated a large portion of her life to speaking out against the so-called religion.

The Church of Scientology, which names celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Juliette Lewis and Elisabeth Moss among its ranks, has strongly denied the integrity of Remini's series. 'I thank you for proving those theories wrong'.
