PJ Fleck surprises Minnesota kicker with scholarship shot from T-shirt cannon

Children's hospital patient uses a T-shirt cannon to surprise Minnesota kicker with scholarship

He introduces Kyle Tanner, who's recovering from a bone marrow transplant, and asks him about his favorite player. Kyle hit the mark, delivering a shirt to the kicker that said, "Justin, congrats on earning a scholarship!"

Minnesota Gopher Football specialist Justin Juenemann, from Phillipsburg, learned of his scholarship in an unconventional way with the help of Coach P.J.

"I saw my name first and then did a double take".

Juenemann is a redshirt senior who hasn't seen game action for the Gophers in his three years on the team.

In a video on the football team's Facebook page, Fleck finds a creative way to award a full scholarship for the senior year of a player who hasn't even seen playing time. "He could easily not do it, and nobody would say anything".

Fleck said he planned the surprise because the team has a close relationship with the children's hospital and he wanted to create a special memory.

Juenemann was quickly swarmed by his teammates before sitting down and giving his mom a call to let her known about his scholarship. "All of the emotions running through me at the time and the fact that Coach Fleck and Kyle went through that effort to create a special moment is incredible".
