UK bus driver hailed a hero for avoiding woman pushed by jogger

Harrowing CCTV footage released by Scotland Yard shows a male jogger pushing a female pedestrian into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge.

Mr Bellquist, a top boss at the Wagamama and Byron restaurant chains, says he has "irrefutable proof" he was in the USA at the time of the incident, which took place at 7.40am on May 5. "Consequently we expect a swift resolution to this wholly untrue allegation", Duncan Lewis Solicitors said in a statement.

Eric Bellquist was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but on Saturday police said he had now been eliminated from the inquiry.

Mr Bellquist studied at the University of Colorado Boulder and worked for Lehman Brothers before joining Hutton Collins Partners, which owns restaurant chains including Wagamana and Byron.

Police have arrested a man suspected to be the jogger who appeared to push a woman in front of a London bus.

When she was knocked into the path of a bus, the driver swerved so as not to hit her.

After the May 5 incident, the bus stopped, while passengers climbed off to help the woman. He was wearing a light grey T-shirt and dark blue shorts.

In the meanwhile, since #London Police released the dramatic CCTV footage, they have reportedly received excellent feedback from the public.

The jogger returned 15 minutes later as he made his way back across the bridge but did not acknowledge the victim when she attempted to speak with him, according to police.
